Now playing: Bayside, Talking of Michelangelo
I don't have a big music post this week because I have been training new people all week, as in working ten- or eleven-hour days, totally away from my desk, doing lots of talking.
But! There's fun music news. In addition to talking to both Ben and Tessica about going to a million and a half concerts this year, a fun thing happened this week.
Because the Internet is a genie.
I met Amy J through Danny, and because she's a sweetheart were friends on Facebook, and she posted something on Wednesday night that caught my attention. Alkaline Trio and Bayside are playing in Baltimore in May! Holy awesome. Batman! Except, oh wait, that's when I'll be in Vegas. No, no, I know. No sympathy. It's freakin Vegas. But still -- what a concert to miss! I texted R in ALL CAPS ANGER and then he said "They're playing in NYC the following weekend..."
Oh, that ellipses.
R and I met in NYC. Alkaline Trio is one of his favorite bands. I love them too. Bayside is awesome in a dozen ways, not the least of which being that I saw them in concert with Taking Back Sunday last December AND they're from the town in which I lived, with Grandma.
I bought tickets Thursday morning on presale, for a concert about which I wouldn't have known were it not for the Internet, to go with a friend with whom I wouldn't have reconnected if it weren't for the Internet.
I'M GOING TO SEE ALKALINE TRIO AND BAYSIDE IN NEW YORK CITY OVER MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND.
Y'all. The Internet is a genie.
And now I'm off to Florida.
